Week 95 – Nipples, Clowns And Balloons

typewriterEveryone of us has a favourite book and no-one else might agree and that is perfectly fine.
For pure perception on growing up, Stephen King’s ‘It’ was the only book I have read as an adult and it reminded me of being a child with a child’s logic. If memory serves me right, the book is around 1300 pages. All those words are a story around one simple idea:

‘For every adult who thinks up the legend of the vampire, there is a child who imagines the stake that can kill the vampire.’

Week 94 – Golf, Holes And Dirty Pringles.

typewriter

Only one major thing to comment on this week and that’s for me to congratulate The American Ryder Cup team. To use a rather colourful local phrase, ‘We wiz humped.’

Since ‘Sky’ has got the rights to The Ryder Cup, I haven’t seen much of it as I only have ‘Council’ TV. I feel a wee bit put out as I can remember watching this thirty odd years back when it was a diddy tournament, that no-one really bothered with. It was the same with The British Open, due to the world domination of ‘Sky’, this July was the first time that I hadn’t see any of the golf in about 44 years. I remember as a young kid, waiting for my dad to come home from work so I could tell him who was leading.

Week 93 – Winners, Losers And All Story Tellers

typewriter

Hi folks, well here we are again. Week 93, who would have thought? Well, probably everyone who read week 92. So no surprise to a dozen or so!

This week I noticed a cracking piece of story telling. Mrs Clinton and Mr Trump were both exceptional. They tell stories, expect you to believe, you vote on those beliefs, they ignore their previous stories and continually tell you others. Then after two terms you hear more stories from someone different. It is a wonderful time of the year.

Week 92 – Age, Health And Hardening Toenails

typewriterAnother week over and another one begins. Welcome to our round-up of Week 92.

As I sat down to write this I had no idea what I was going to say. I decided to have a look back at some of the Saturday Postings to see if I had an opening that I hadn’t explored. As I tried to get myself comfy I realised that there is more of me hurts than doesn’t. Between that and looking back to something, that not long ago, I would have remembered, made me think on getting older.

Week 91 – Team Building, Genitalia And A Plea.

typewriter
Here we are folks at the end of another seven days and the usual Saturday round-up for Week 91.

Before I begin, I need to thank Adam Kluger for giving me my inspiration for this week. I was commenting on one of his many excellent stories and ‘Team building’ was mentioned. I felt a cringe, a growing anger and a prayer that this abomination / humiliation / waste-of time, pile of nonsense, will one day, cease to exist.

Week 90 – Interviews, Scripts And Unrelated Diplomas

typewriterI have been using all my writing skills this weeks folks. I have been creative, sparse with the truth, fantasised and down-right lied. Nope I have not been writing a novel or a new short, I have applied for a job.

It is always a difficult balance to get right. You do need to write yourself up but you don’t want to come across as an opera singer twat. (ME, ME, ME!!) However I think being the twat actually works when I look at some of the folks I have worked with over the years!

Week 89 – Adverts, Cramps And Protests.

typewriterA few things have really annoyed me this week and hence this inspiration. I decided to write on what annoys me most. I have a list, but will go for the doozy annoyance. I hate everything from Romance Novels to Polo-necks. I hate Gok Wan, cockatiels, most TV, Bieber, Sainsburys, South Ayrshire Council, Pizza, itchy trousers, mobiles, enthusiasm within the workplace, management, ratatouille, folks that read papers that they haven’t bought, politicians, the monarchy and sheep…To name but a few. But my biggest bug bear is adverts.

Week 88 – Bingo, Sean Connery And Equal Ground

typewriterThis is weird as I have no inspiration on what to write. I’m hoping that I can write my way into something.

I think all of us here at Literally Stories have done this once or twice when trying to decide on a story. We write down our thoughts, our reasoning and that eventually helps us decide.

So here goes.

Week 87 – Submissions, Words And The Nazareth Fencing Team

typewriter

Here we go again. Another seven days have gone as quick as Usain Bolt with a dodgy stomach! I think you can see where this post is going. I can’t ignore what is a world-wide event so I have been thinking on The Olympics this week. Due to me not wanting to upset many people I won’t comment on the big man overlooking but not helping the Nazareth team winning any medals. (Broken Down Angel anyone???)

Week 86 – Mobiles, Inane Comments, Repetition And Comments.

typewriterI know that this may be a bit ironic but I would like to mention some inane witterings and questions. Not so much in stories but in real life. So if you are going to inanely witter, then make it about real life and you will be forgiven due to realism!
