It won’t be long until our 300th post.
Any of you who have been reading those anniversary ones will know that we normally have a section on memorable lines. This year will be no different.

(Diane, I’m sure you are bored into distraction by my predictable childishness!!)
Well here we are at Week 288.
On last weeks post, I promised Diane that I would cut the title down to four words.
I, being a total nipple end had a look at the longest word in the English language and I found it to be the chemical name for a Super Protein called Titin at around one hundred and ninety thousand letters. What a piece of nonsense, surely there has to be an alternative, could I suggest we just use Titin. Who the fuck would give up the three hours of their life that would be needed to say it?
Well here we are at Week 287.
I had a look at the historical events of this week.
I see that Major Boaby Ross set fire to Washington. That wasn’t very nice and was a bit hypercritical. The British are still burning effigies of Mr Fawkes for trying to do the same sort of thing just over two hundred years earlier.
Here we are at Week 286
The year is fair flying in.
We sometimes say to submitters to try relevant sites if their work is specialised, or if it is a genre that we don’t publish. But the one thing we don’t do is give out suggestions to where someone could place their work.
To be truthful I don’t think either myself or Diane have much knowledge of any other fiction websites.
And here we are at Week 285.
It’s interesting reading some of the introductions that we receive in the initial emails.
Before I moan too much, at least these folks do acknowledge that we are out there.
I’m not saying that anyone exaggerates but some of the plaudits some of our unsuccessful submitters have are extraordinary.
Well here we are at week 284.
Diane’s answer to the first of Leila’s questions on the Re-Run got me thinking.
How much do we understand our characters?
Here we are at Week 283.
I’m hoping Diane adds a wee bit into this.
I thought this week that I’d tell you a bit about how I read the submissions.
Using my eyes is a good start. I tried with my ears but that was just shite.
Maybe it’s just me and my limitations but I was wondering how many writers choose a genre before they start to write?
Well here we are at Week 281.
Every now and then I am slightly happy.
The last time I was truly happy was the 8th November 1983.
This week was not of that calibre but I did find something that I’ve been looking for, for a very long time.
Another seven days has bit the dust and we are now at Week 280
The submissions are fair flying in. Now I know that I’ve mentioned this before and there is a helluva strong hint about what we would rather not see in the submission guidelines, but there are a few others that I’d like to mention. If you are thinking on going with any of these ideas as stories please for the love of maybe there is something there, maybe not – Don’t!
