Week 602 – A P.D. With Whiskers, It Wasn’t Even Porn And Could Be An Interesting Image Diane!

Here we go again. Another Saturday round up and we are now at Week 602.

A bit of wisdom I read this week. It states that we should never steal, never cheat or lie. Don’t be a despicable human being. This should be a given, but that’s not the reason! You see, our governments hate competition!!

Talking about attention seeking and self-importance-

We’ve been having some trouble with our cat.

The biggest problem is that he’s a cat! There’s an old saying that states, ‘You never own a cat, they own you!’

They choose to live with you and they take great pleasure out of torturing you! The torture will happen daily and will only stop for two things – Sleeping and especially an itch!! Everything stops for an itch, even eating!

So Gwen thought she would email some cat specialist. That’s a bit like someone stating that they understand the thinking of smoke!

I’ve very little faith in them or the vets when it comes to the fiends reasoning. All they do is tell you that there is something that’s stressing him.

He is always warm, has food whenever he wants it, he can go where he wants, can sleep wherever and whenever he wants, he has water and loads of toys to play with.

Stressed?? Fucking stressed?? I bloody well don’t think so!!!! Anyway, this became one of those delightful mistakes. You see, the guy she watches is Jackson Galaxy so I thought I would fuck about with his name just to annoy her and came up with Justin Uranus. I honestly didn’t realise until a few seconds of her calling me, well, all-sorts…But from now on, the poor sod will always be referred to, by me, as ‘Justin Uranus’!!

…Childish, I know! But what can you do???

I did something that I’ve never done before this week and that was to buy a film from one of those streaming or whatever the fuck you call them channels. I didn’t mean to. I don’t even know how to but there it was. I only realised when I was checking my bank statement. I went back into whatever the fuck you call it and there it was. I was actually quite excited to watch it. (Even though it had cost me fifteen quid!)

When I put it on, I realised that there were two annoying twats doing commentary throughout and by fuck it didn’t sound good, they were awful. Only Elvira can get away with that.

My point is, if you want to watch ‘The Blood Of Fu Manchu’ staring the late, great Christopher Lee, make sure there are no annoying twats doing commentary and that it hasn’t cost you fifteen quid!!

I found what I thought was a cracking wee puzzle. For all you younger people out there, using your phone is not puzzle solving, it’s reading.

…Well fair play to you if you can manage that!!!

What completes the list?

If no-one gets it, I’ll show the answer next time.

I’m writing this on the 16th Sept. That was the anniversary of Marc Bolan’s death. He was a brilliant, inventive rocker who inspired and continues to inspire to this day. He’s another artist that was taken far too early.

I’m sure he was quoted as saying, ‘Rockers are cursed!’

I was going to show him and his partner, Gloria Jones singing a duet but the only one I saw was ‘To Know You Is To Love You.’ And no matter how wonderful these two were, they couldn’t help that song.

I have a soft spot for this one.

Okay, onto this week’s stories.

We had three new writers, a third timer and someone who is close to being a legend. I think legendary is around fifty stories, although, this writer must be close to that if you add in Sunday Specials. Unfortunately my limited knowledge can only count his number of stories.

As always, we welcome our new folks, we hope that they have fun on the site, and as always, we want to see more of their work.

On Monday we had, Marcus Delmont, with his first story on the site called, ‘In A Flash

‘Rather sinister.’

‘Unsettling. I like that there is no answer’

‘The reaction of the mother was very well done.’

Next up we had Scott Taylor with his third story entitled, ‘Humpty Dumpty.’

‘There’s a lot to hate here, in a good way!’

‘Love of money is always a travesty.’

‘His Drunken ramble was entertaining.’

Nigel Pugh was our next new writer. His story, ‘Ascension.’ was published on Wednesday which broke the back of the week.

‘Good writing.’

‘There was a charming melancholy to this.’

‘Subtle done very well!’

Our next writer needs no introduction, but I will anyway!

Michael Bloor graced the site with ‘The Lingering Regret.’ for story number thirty-five for him.

‘A sort of Genie type tail with a twist.’

‘I wanted to read this straight after I had read it the first time.’

‘Mick proves time and time again that he can turn his hand to different styles and genres.’

And our last new writer finished off the week. The writer was Henry Edwards and the story was ‘Savage.’

‘Henry has done a great job with the characters.’

‘This is plausible.’

‘We are all delighted to see this go through.’

That’s us done and dusted for another week!

Just the usual reminders folks, keep reading, keep writing, keep commenting and a wee ‘Thank You’ is not too much to ask.

Comments have been excellent this week, thanks so much for that! I think we probably have had the most ever!

This is another accidental childish reference. Well, more naivety, on my part. In fact, on all concerned.

I heard a song from Belle and Sebastian the other day. I knew the song as I think I have the CD somewhere. But I never knew the title or the meaning of it. I looked and they named the song after another group. Here’s the thing, the other group didn’t know what it was either. When they saw it and realised they decided to keep the name!

That is as clear as mud!!!

What the hell, I’ll show this, it’s interesting to listen to.

I’m afraid I am already lost on the puzzle. What is a cosh mark? (should I be afraid I asked?) Now as far as Arab Strap, French kiss, English leather, Italian jobs, American pie (which has two wildly different meanings), Chinese checkers and the Mexican radio go, I feel that no one should be upset because there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Marc Bolan was cool. No higher compliment I can give. His girl got bad treatment because she was driving, but at least she was not as messed up on drugs as he was. The only thing he missed out on was longevity, but there are only so many Ozzys who can reach 76 or Willies still on the stage past 90.

Cats simply do not give a fuck. An old villain like my friend Andy may have been happier being a long term Street Tom than he is now at some posh Cat resort. Such singular creatures–nothing in the world like them. Maybe it is because we have wackos like the Cat plastic surgery lady (not the only one I fear) and not one Cat who’d ever imitate a person. There’s something in that. I know what you mean by “Vet speak.” Whenever I hear it I say things like, “Ha, you don’t know, either.” It just comes down to the fact that if a Cat could be human s/he would be a glam/punk rocker who would never sell out, yet take it all anyway.

You do know the best clips!
