Hello there folks and folkessess. Here we go again and are at Week 576.
Before I start I need to warn you that there is a new virus doing the rounds. If you get it, don’t go to A&E. With this ‘Peekaboo Virus’ go to ICU.
I apologise for that and I despise myself for admitting that it did make me smile. (Mr Cowan once again.)
This is another three clip video posting. One is one of the best songs I’ve heard, which is poignant. One is for all you delusional parents out there and one is simply because it’s mad and I love it. But I’ll come to them.
First off, I was thinking about dying. It happens every other weekend and I’ve came to accept it as it gives me something to write about!
One of my gaffers had more money than a horse could shite and she told me about her bucket list after she had crossed para-gliding off it. It was the same old pish that everyone has; sky-dive, climb a mountain, Waltz in Venice, see the Seven Wonders, fly over The Canyon etc, etc. She asked me if I had one and I told her that I never would. She asked me why and I said, ‘Bucket lists are for those who have the means to complete their bucket lists.’ She looked at me with no understanding and stated, ‘Maybe some day.’
I do find it ironic that most folks bucket lists contain activities that could kill them!
But there is one thing on all those bucket-lists that we can experience if we hit our late fifties…Seeing the Northern Lights. We don’t need to travel to the North of Scotland or to Scandinavia, all we need to do is stand up quickly!! (Blood pressure enhances the experience!)
Fuck, I might get into trouble with this one but it’s the BBC’s fault. All this talk of a Supreme Leader made me think of ‘Ming The Merciless’ adding another title to his name. I thought some more and took a turn for the worst when I wondered if a supreme leader who was a haemophiliac would then be known as the Supreme Bleeder?
Once again the richest in the countries are making decisions for the poorest and they are all being slaughtered one way or another.
Supreme Leader, President, Prime Minister, First Minister, King, Queen or whatever should all be known as one word – (Insert as nasty and insulting a word in as many languages as you know!!)
I think that is an appropriate link for one of my all time favourite songs.
And there was only one version that I could use.
By the way, ‘The Works’ is as close to being a perfect album as you’ll get!
I thought of another clip when I read that MacAulay Culkin changed his name to MacAulay MacAulay Culkin Culkin. Why would anyone do that? Maybe he thought that he would get twice the attention. (And it’s more good luck than good measure if I managed the spelling of his name correctly!!) I fucking hated ‘Home Alone’ and when I read that, I thought of this…
…Don’t know why!!!
I’ve just noticed that I have commented around five thousand eight hundred times on the site.
I’m not bragging, I’m being literal – I HAVE just noticed!!!! I didn’t know that I could access that piece of information. The weird thing is, it’s right in front of me on a page that I use most days!!
An old teacher said to me, ‘How many times do we look but never see?’ That was a bit like his workmates and employers as he was a tad too touchy around the girls!!!
Actually, not noticing gives me some hope for more stories as maybe all we need to do is open our eyes a bit more!
Okay onto this week’s stories.
We had three new folks. We send each of them a warm welcome and we also had two well established friends of the site as well as being wonderful writers!
As always our initial comments follow.
On Monday we had our first new writer, Sergey Bolmat with ‘Happy Point.’
‘This tickled me. I think the cartoon ‘Futurama’ had these devices out in the street.’
‘There is an odd charm to this, even with the dark subject matter.’
‘Signs do have a tendency to malfunction!’
Mick Bloor has graced the site with twenty nine pieces of work, ‘Beside The Dying Ash Tree’ was story number thirty.
‘Real and very well done.’
‘We can always count on Mick’s writing skill and intelligence.’
‘Brilliant pace which suits the story.’
On Wednesday we had Christopher Ananais with his seventeenth story for us entitled, ‘Flowers For Esma.’
‘There is some great prose within.’
‘Dark and done very well.’
‘Not read many with this subject matter from that point of view.’
Susmita Mukherjee was our next new writer. Her story, ‘The Scent Of Eternity’ was published on Thursday.
‘I found this charming.’
‘There are some lovely turns of phrase.’
‘I was so pleased that Susmita got this one through, she has persisted, shown professionalism and been a joy to work with.’
And last but not least was our third new writer. ‘Dutch’ by Dirk Kortz.
‘There is a rhythm to this.’
‘I found this to be very entertaining.’
‘I could imagine the narrator and poor ol’ Dutch.’
That’s us for another week. Please keep on commenting and keep on writing and look our for those things that you don’t see – They may inspire!
To finish with, and another nod to Tam Cowan – This is just in. There has been a drone attack in The White House – Trump has stated that the Iranians have blown up the jeffrey epstein file!
After a beautiful and thoughtful song, we need a bit of nonsense.
I remembered this guy in the early eighties with ‘She Blinded Me With Science’ and another one that the name escapes me. This was a surprise when I first heard it!
I may have posted this before but the world needs more toad licking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Spring Hug!
When I saw Queen in concert in 1979 (yes, I am bragging). Freddie and Brian did one song alone. “Love of My Life.” But before it Freddie laughed and told us (something like 12,000) that “Roger and John are in back getting blowjobs. They won’t be gone long.” Such a great night!
Steely-eyed persons are usually concealing steely thoughts best not shared with anyone than Steel-Eyed Salmon.
Fun work and pleasant rage again!
