such an intriguing story – what does the lake mean what does it represent – so many interesting ways to interpret the story – kept me thinking about it long after completing it
For no good reason, I’m seeing the lake as a metaphor and I’m quite literal and usually obtuse. The lake could be war, bad relationships, street races – something seductive and deadly. Of course sometimes an evil lake is just and evil lake.
At the beginning of the story, I thought of the book / movie “Big Fish”.
Hi Caden,
We have received quite a few of what you could consider transference stories. But this was lifted above them all. The characters, descriptions, reveal and mystery of your story were all beautifully judged and superbly done.
All the very best my friend.

At first, the diction/prose reminded me of Nabokov (with his synthesia and all etc hah) but did not expect it to turn into a thriller. Great read!
