  1. For no good reason, I’m seeing the lake as a metaphor and I’m quite literal and usually obtuse. The lake could be war, bad relationships, street races – something seductive and deadly. Of course sometimes an evil lake is just and evil lake.

    At the beginning of the story, I thought of the book / movie “Big Fish”.

    We have received quite a few of what you could consider transference stories. But this was lifted above them all. The characters, descriptions, reveal and mystery of your story were all beautifully judged and superbly done.

  3. At first, the diction/prose reminded me of Nabokov (with his synthesia and all etc hah) but did not expect it to turn into a thriller. Great read!
