Today we look at resilience in the animal world. The fine little fellow on the skateboard attached to this story has an attitude that humans would do well to emulate.
And from this basic idea, Tim Hildebrant has created a fanciful and somewhat poignant tale. Wattle and Daub is irresistible and worth as many trips out as possible.

Legless dogs may feature – but this tale bounds along, its tone sublimely free of any straining to pluck the heartstrings. Great Sunday read.

A fine bitter-sweet tale. Most of us have day-dreamed about being famous (even if it’s just being the play-maker for Derby County FC), but Wattle & Daub’s fate tells us that fame ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. Just as well, we can’t all be in the movies.
