I do love to upset a ‘Woke’
I’d actually like to punch one but you don’t see them, all you do is read their opinions – Cowardly fucks!
I have stated that you need to go with the flow with any of these that I have written as I don’t analyse, look back, do an in-depth synopsis…All I want to do is tell you why the story has stayed with me.
Back to fucking with the Wokes!
The oldest book I have, which is gubbed, I might add is something that was printed in 1888 – It is a ‘Boys Own’ compendium type huge book.
The title is what has made me keep this story at the back of my mind. And not the ‘Boys’ part which is reserved for beasts, pervos and a lot of the clergy.
When I was growing up, I read a lot of Comic Books. And here we go Woke fuckers – Most were gender orientated. (Roy Of The Rovers / Victor / Combat / Ginty / Tracey – But there were some that were for everyone – Beano / Shiver and Shake / Whisper And Chips)
Sorry off on a tangent!
I’d like for you to become aware of an amazing book, ‘Savage’ from a brilliant horror writer called Richard Laymon.
And the tie in with the ‘Boy’s Own’ is simply that I found this piece of brilliance has the feel of an old fashioned ‘Boy’s Own’ Romp.
The story is really simple but it becomes complex and takes you on an amazing ride!
The MC happens to be under the bed of Mary Kelly when she is being murdered by Jack The Ripper. The MC is very young but, sorry guys, details elude me, he takes umbrage and follows Jack. They end up in America and it is a chase through Indian Country where old Jacky Boy is still using his knife.
What I loved about this was the invention. Mr Laymon has taken a well known horrific time in history and really added his own spin onto it. He even answered why Jack stopped.
I promise you, I am not making light of this as those ladies lost their lives. But in a weird way, we should always wonder and I suppose that Richard Laymon has given us something to consider. Not the actualities of his story but is there a chance that the sick fuck did sod off somewhere else?
No matter what or where, I could forgive the not-knowing for that evil fuck to suffer.
(And the best film regarding this which has fuck all to do with Laymon’s idea is ‘Murder By Decree’ – I have a pal who is a Mason who hated this – I fucking loved it!!!!!!! It treated the victims with the respect that they deserved)
I truly do recommend! – ‘Savage’ by Richard Laymon

Thank you Hugh for the reading suggestion
–I have wondered just that. Even though he taunted the cops I imagine perhaps a close call sent him elsewhere.

Facinating. I have to admit that in a way I don’t really want to know who Jack the Ripper was. he was a dirty murdering bastard no matter where from or what his name or whatever made him do it-but-if there was absolute proof that he was just a tailor or a beggar or someone who had the means and the opportunity and a grudge against women it would be even more sordid than the whole thing is. There is no excuse but at least if he were to be a deranged member of the royal family or somesuch it would be – I don’t want to say better – but it would be more fitting in an odd way – is that awful? Anyway, yes why couldn’t he just go off and commit his dastardly deeds elsewhere. Great Auld Author post.

Hi Leila,
I had forgotten that this one was there.
The legend is horrific and fascinating in the same measure.
It is sad though that we remember the sick fucks!

The specific Northwest has its own legendary criminal D.B. Cooper (actually Dan, don’t remember how it got changed to D.B.). Amateur and professional sleuths have been coming up with possible candidates for the plane hikjacking and theft ever since the crime was committed. Every few years the local newspaper runs a review of current theories. If interested do a search on D. B. Cooper.

I had a look Doug.
Seemingly he was called DB simply because a reporter mixed him up with another crook.
It’s an interesting story and since no-one was hurt, I hope that he sipped a few Pina Coladas before he died in peace!!
The airlines have been shafting us all for years so taking a few quid off of them is a bit of comeuppance.

Sounds like an interesting mash-up of horror, crime and alt history. And if it disturbs the woke, so much the better. Thanks for telling us about it, Hugh.

Hi Dave,
There is a rule we follow that states, writing about writing is a 99% No-No. However Mr Laymon also did a story of this ilk called ‘The Stake’ which was rather interesting and again, very inventive.
…Well, as long as like a twist on Vampire stories.
Thanks as always my fine friend.

Definitely another one for me to check out – I like fiction with dark edges, or dark cores, or wholly dark frankly.
