It is said that one doesn’t get old until regrets outnumber dreams. I don’t know if that is true, but The Flight of Time by Yashar Seyedbagheri certainly states the case in a most persuasive fashion.
Yash has written many pieces that explore the contradictory concepts of fate and free will. Nature v. Nurture. He has eloquently, objectively written of the struggle, which continues to be an endless battle, what gamblers call a push.
Q: The ongoing Nick character continues to explore his own strengths and weaknesses. Although he is pretty rough on himself, he doesn’t appear, at least to me, to hate himself. Your thoughts?
Q: Here’s an opportunity for you to let us know how your writing is going and what you are working on.
Yash’s replies:
A. As to the questions, no, Nick doesn’t hate himself. He strives for betterment, and he certainly is rough on himself in the process, but he isn’t one for self-loathing.
A. In terms of my own writing, I’m working on a collection of stories focused on the American dream and its loss, involving various incarnations of Nick, in fact! I’ve also still been writing flash fiction, which I’ve long loved. I still just love the idea of conveying a story in so few words, in choosing what to tell the reader, and what to imply, in the vein of Hemingway’s iceberg theory.

That us a good definition of old. Other choices – sore back, knees, feet. Nothing will ever be premature. What you do for a living is collecting a pension. No idea about current music.

I remember this one from its first appearance – excellent choice for a re-run. Meticulously planned and constructed piece
