Literally Reruns -The Binturong Blues by Anne Marie Potter

The Biturong Blues by Anne Marie Potter

“I think the bintarong ate my condom.” That’s a showstopper of an opening sentence, and although it is not literally the opener of Anne Marie Potter’s The Binturong Blues it catches your attention and quickly sets up a deliriously madcap work of derring do.

I consider it one of the funniest things we have ever published and the original responses to it reflect that opinion to the high.

I invite Anne Marie to share her thoughts about this one.

It is a whopper and great fun to read.

“When I wrote this story, I actually lived in Vegas. The zoo is gone now, but back then it hosted an ancient lion, a grumpy monkey, and a binturong with hate in its eyes. The story wrote itself.”

  1. Hi Leila / Ann Marie,

This is one of those stories that you read one line (As Leila has pointed out) and you will eternally remember it.

We all know that it can be a death knell when someone states that their submission is humorous.

For that one line alone – This story will always be up there with the best of any humour that we’ve published!!!!
