This is the second time around for Swan River Daisy by Tom Sheehan as a rerun. It originally appeared in 2015 then was first rerun in 2018. The debut year is close to the beginning of the site and the second is from the earliest weeks of this feature.
And yet no matter how much time passes, there’s this story, as new and inviting as ever. When my mind was newer and more inviting, I imagined all the words locked away in pages in books, on shelves in libraries and wondered if they ever got lonely. In that sense, the function of the rerun is to knock on dusty covers and let worthwhile work come back to life and shine anew. And if that can happen more than once, then all the better.
I leave you with Tom.

Hello Tom
Thank you for your continuing brilliance in this sad world of armed thugs. Beautiful no matter how often it runs.

A good story can be read over and over and we have so many great stories on the site but there is no doubt Tom is one of the best in terms of content and lyrical wordplay and of course ahead of everyone in terms of sheer numbers and as we have said before we have only published a fraction of the work that he has on offer. Thanks Tom.

Hadn’t read this one before. Lovely quirky plot, beautifully narrated.

It was good to go back and read one of Tom’s earlier posts on LS. His superb style and control of language never wavers, but it was good to read a story with a more unusual theme and, as always with Tom, an absolute pleasure to read.

Hi Tom,
This was your first for us.
I remember reading this and thinking, ‘This is a bit special’
Two hundred and however many stories later emphasised this with bells on!!!
It is a pleasure to be on the same site as you my fine friend.
