Another week has passed and I still haven’t grown younger. Santa’s not paying his dividends. I guess I’ll live. Speaking of living (cheapest segway possible or maybe it’s segue – the one with the wheels): We Lived by our Adam West started the week. Once again we are engulfed with interest – yes it’s a fire and war reference – into the historical fiction which Senõr West delivers so well.
Diane M Dickson gave us Bubbles for our Tuesday story. It is a tragic story which featured an apathetic wife.
Our Wednesday story was Seven Days…A Bag Week, came from Hugh Cron. This larger than life tale captures the never-ending search for the next high and the suffering the addicts cause in the life of those around them.
For our Thursday story we had Bobby Aspergers by Steve Wright. It is a unique and captivating story. It’s tender and conjures emotions.
Lastly the Friday story which was Midas Brown by our very own Wellsman – or maybe it is Welshman – Nik Eveleigh. The heartbreaking story is about redemption and what could happen to a person being wronged throughout his entire upbringing.
It was a serious week dealing with heavy subjects. Next week will start off a little lighter, so don’t be afraid to send us your not-so-serious short stories. Submission guidelines here.
Lastly – I know I said lastly already, but I am forgetful and also paradoxical when I explain why I write lastly twice – the Story of the Week annunciation. Please gather around. Bring your friends and gather a bit around them – they won’t know what hit them. The winner of the Story of the Week for the past week is: Elsa by Tobias Haglund. The story is about a young woman deciding to leave her home country and what she views as safe.
Please take a moment to vote for your favourite amongst our fine stories here (below) or at our poll page!
