Bolitho, Shane

Shane Bolitho is a writer and mild-mannered Government-pencil-pusher-cum-stay-at-home-Dad-slash-trailing-spouse, currently living in Yogyakarta, in Indonesia.

Born and raised in Bendigo, in Australia, his first literary breakthrough came in 1981 when his 20-page hand-written epic, about Dracula and Frankenstein going to a witch’s party, was published in the Quarry Hill Primary School newsletter and he has been riding the coat-tails of this success ever since. Joining the ranks of the Australian Public Service in the mid-2000s, Bolitho took leave from Canberra two years ago to follow his PHD-bound wife to the island of Java to care for his three children and to begin a degree in Creative Writing.
