We so often read stories about places, which play out like little travelogues; nice but superficial. This story goes much deeper. I have not been to Budapest, but I caught what must be the essence of it from this fine work.

  2. I was fortunate enough to visit Budapest, and the wonderful descriptions woven seamlessly within the story bring the place to life more than any photograph. Romantic without being sappy. Very nice.

  3. I have been lucky enough to visit Budapest and your writing took me right back there – so rich and evocative. Budapest is a superb location for a romantic story such as this as well and, as others have said, you’ve done a great job of telling a compelling story without being the least bit schmaltzy.

  4. Hi Malaya,

To be honest, most romances that we receive are terrible. Most description heavy stories can bore me senseless.

But not with this. You painted a picture, your characters were visual and real and this has bombed 99% of our Romance submissions out the water.

When a story gets through that isn’t our preferred reading choice, that shows how well done it is!!

    All the very best.

  5. What’s interesting is that she’s in this fantastic city with all its parks and history and ambiance and they mostly romance in the hostel bathroom. The thermal baths seemed like a different alternative, later in the story. That is intriguing also, how she chose this particular guy in this particular place.
