Welch, Nina

Nina Welch has had poems published in Rats Ass Review (2016), Aaduna Press for National Poetry Month (2016), Fandango 8 Chapbook (2003), Girls on Film chapbook (2002), Fandango 8: Poetry and Short Stories chapbook (2001), 10th Annual Arizona Film Festival Magazine (2001), and Arts & Literary Magazine Sandscript (1998). She was awarded first place at the University of Arizona’s Academy of American Poets competition, judged by esteemed poet Carl Dennis. She graduated, Cum Laude, from the University of Arizona in 2001 and received the Outstanding Senior Award. She was also featured poet at the 2019 Arizona International Film Festival, at which time she was christened Festival Poet. She has recently retired from Saddleback College as Fine Arts Public Information Officer and is currently writing short stories, poetry, and a novel. She lives in San Clemente, California and is a contributing writer for the San Clemente Journal.
