Lisa Shimotakahara started taking online short story writing classes in 2021 through Stanford University, Hugo House, and Catapult, among others. Prior to trying her hand at short fiction, she was an advertising copywriter for 25 years. She is inspired by the work of writers like George Saunders and Donald Barthelme, who push the boundaries of traditional storytelling.
