David Newkirk is a retired attorney. His work has appeared in Number One Magazine, Flash Fiction Magazine, Fiction on the Web, Poetry and COVID, and is forthcoming in New Letters. He is currently a candidate for the Master of Fine Arts at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, where he is actively unlearning thirty years of writing like a lawyer.
