Steven McBrearty grew up in San Antonio, TX., in one of those large, rollicking Catholic families so prevalent in the past. On any given day, there would be games of pitch and catch in the hallway or tackle football in a back bedroom. Steven moved to Austin to attend college at the University of Texas and has remained living there ever since.
He has published three collections of short stories –Christmas Day on a City Bus, 2011; The Latin Sub, 2017; and Children of the Shopping Mall, 2021—as well as numerous individual fiction and humor pieces.
