Dominique Margolis grew up speaking French in the rural Auvergne region of France. As a young adult, she moved to the USA as a foreign student with limited English skills. She eventually became the first non-native speaker to earn a Ph.D. in English from the University of Denver. Her prose is published in French and in English.
