Joe was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. He spent his early years in a good Irish Catholic neighborhood, surrounded by seven cemeteries, the Grand Trunk railroad line, and a Knights of Columbus Hall that hosted old movies on Sunday afternoons.
Retired from his career at a multinational accounting and consulting firm, he now coaches boys track and field and cross country at a local high school. A relative newcomer to writing, Joe loves a good short story. He has published several stories in The Literate Ape, and his story “The Coffee Shop” has appeared in Open Heart Chicago: An Anthology of Chicago Writing.
