Koa, Mason

Mason Koa is the author of the forthcoming chapbook, Not Cracked But Carved, which was a finalist for the Orison Chapbook Prize and the Black River Chapbook Award. His fiction is published or forthcoming in The Penn Review, Mid-American Review, The Los Angeles Review, Quarterly West, Vestal Review, XRAY, and elsewhere. His work has been nominated for Best Microfiction 2024 and Best Spiritual Literature. His story was the runner-up for the 2023 Quarterly West Prose Contest. He writes from Northern California and is a graduate of the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Creative Writing Program. He edits for Ark Review, the environmental literary journal of the nonprofit Everything Starts Small. His first published work appeared in Literally Stories.
