Jennings, Lavinia Andrei

Lavinia Andrei Jennings was born and educated in Romania, and spent fourteen years in the US. She has a BA in Romanian and English literature, and an MA in Creative Writing from the US, and has published short prose, poetry and reviews in US magazines.

Since her first encounter with Jane Eyre, in her early teens, she has been writing in both English and Romanian, and became a passionate anglophile. A later encounter with Jane Goodall’s writing validated her love for animals and fascination with all living things.

Since 2009 she has returned to her country with her son, and writes surrounded by nature in a remote village in the Transylvanian hills, in the company of her four dogs and a variable number of cats. Currently, she is working on a memoir and short stories with characters from both the human and animal world (one world, after all). Her hobbies include zoology, pottery, photography and travel.
