After originally studying Fine Art years ago, Michael Hutchinson turned to writing.
He’s written short film scripts, one novel, and a number of magazine articles. More recently Michael has turned to the short story form, which allows him to explore ideas more quickly. Many of his stories, which are often based on real events, might be considered surreal and have a dark humour within them. Although rarely intentional, the characters in his stories are frequently outsiders, people who struggle to fit into society, those who don’t quite understand its rules.
Michael Hutchinson lives in the south of Scotland. He has had a number of short
stories published in Scottish and UK magazines/websites.
